I explore moments when the familiar world becomes visually uncertain. The work begins with a moment of recognition, when an ordinary scene reveals a reality that was always there, but remained unseen. A shift in perspective dissolves our sense of what is real, transforming the ordinary into an unfamiliar world.
Our perception of reality is shaped by conditioning, experience, and the filters of the mind. We never see the world entirely as it is. What we perceive is the mind's interpretation of what our eyes encounter.
As above, so below. What we perceive as opposites is often part of the same whole. The boundaries between them exist not in the world itself, but in the way we have learned to see it.
I do not seek out or construct these scenes. My photographs emerge from rare, unrepeatable moments of recognition, when an ordinary place reveals another reality that has existed within it all along.
I believe art exists beyond the intentions of its creator. The artist's interpretation is never the definitive answer. Each artwork takes on a new life through those who encounter it, becoming an independent part of our reality, with a meaning and existence of its own.
Light is energy. A photograph captures its reflection, allowing a fleeting moment to transcend time. The moment itself is forever gone, yet its reflection continues to exist.
